FishHunter - Fish Finder/Sonar App Reviews

1. Dont even try to use this in the middle of no where without Internet/cellular coverage. You have to log into the app to use the sonar. Pure bull$&/@. I just want a sonar on my phone. I dont need to have my presence on the web while Im fishing!! 2. Even with the latest version of the app, wifi doesnt stay connected unless the sonar is 10 feet away. 3. Glad I only got this as a gift. Much better sonar/app hardware on the market.

The app is no different than any other fishing app out in the market right now. Really the entire app is designed around selling you a fishing ball that is overpriced. I would recommend sticking with one of the other fishing apps that has a larger user base.

This app is great to help you fish! Works perfectly and I caught my first fish with it!

i have had this thing for a while. i would say that it is working well now. i have the latest app they seem to have fixed a bunch of items that i did not think worked awesome. connecting to the sonar has improved for sure they have made some improvements to the the screens so it seems to be easier to use, although i have been using it for a while so maybe i am used to it?

Latest version of the app connects to my sonar much better. Overall it looks more refined - new features, etc. - looking good and look forward to future releases!

Downloaded this app and even allowed it access to my Facebook , though when tried to open it , it dont work right . Not impressed " sorry " but that is what it is .

This app is excellent.... I highly recommend all readers to buy the actual Fishhunter unit itself... worth its weight in gold. It has helped me locate and catch way more fish.

This product is terrible. I live in Prince George BC and do tons of fishing on my 12 foot aluminum and ice fish in the winter. Im in lakes where there is no service so the device is useless because it needs a connection of some sort. I dont know if it is a hardware issue but it seems to crash after a few seconds after its initiated on my iphone 6 plus. I tried my buddys "deeper" fish finder and it was awesome. I regret purchasing this god awful and waste of hard earned cash.

So happy my wife got me this sonar for ice fishing. Cant wait to try it in the summer. App is great!!!

Great app for any fisherman looking to start a log book of fishing locations and catches. If youre a lunar table checking master fisherman, youre going to like this app and product. I tow the sonar behind my float tube and use it every time I go ice fishing. The only downside is that the app uses quite a bit of storage on your device.

Every time I try to add picture the app crushes.

I have spent money on all kinds of fish finders. Nothing has compared to the feel that FishHunter gives. Not only is it affordable but it is also one of the most powerful ones I have used yet.

I have the FishHunter Directional 3D and it works well ice fishing. Since the sonar is at the top of the hole, you do get interference for the top portion of the water. I was told it can be up to 4x the ice depth. The app has been updated so that you can adjust the sonar power and that reduces the interference. Being at the top of the hole also reduced the size of the "cone" that the sonar can see compared to a traditional ice fishing flasher. It is also cheaper and more portable. With those limits in mind though, it does mark fish and has helped with finding the right depth and setting the bait at the right height.

I have not caught a lot of fish with my fish hunter 3D but caught fish every time and was amazed at all the fish that were present. The 3D was very easy to use and learn.

When I purchased the orange ball (FishHunter) I wasnt told that the iOS app would not be sonar ready until..?..whatever! After many emails and two false launch dates & a $180 later, I now know, who the fish is!

I love this app, it works just like its advertised. I havent had a single issue syncing my phone with my sonar and I find that this little gadget has increased my haul by almost double. I also like to check if anyone has posted a catch or pin near by or where Im going for my fishing spot. What else can I say but this gadget has me fishing in the 21st century.

Previous versions of the app at least worked some of the time, although the connection was flaky when in open water.

It sounded great... But sadly... It does not work. It will not stay connect for more than a couple seconds at a time. 10 yards away and iPad 7 feet above in still water 20 feet deep, still a no go. If its not working by end of 2nd week ... Asking for a refund.
