FishHunter - Fish Finder/Sonar App Comentários

Fish hunter 3d and the pro

Neither work since the last update on android or iOS XR , 12 or 13 pro. If you can’t fix the current version at least let us use the last update until you figure something out. I have 400 dollars of unusable equipment, I currently had to purchase a iBobber until these are back online and it’s wasted my money, time and effected the time I had to enjoy the holiday… I did nothing but praise these for the information they collected and shared with friends and family only to be left wondering if it’s even being addressed since they discontinued the product line. I received a email stating it’s being addressed and soon to be updated. Until then let us use a version that functioned?

I like the app!

but it needs to be updated, it’s been quite a while since the last substantial update. New similar devices are starting to show up in the marketplace.

Glitches

A lot

No Internet Connection

This is an issue that needs to be addressed. Unit just never connects when needed. Takes 30 minutes to connect then when the unit connects then error Sonar will not connecting. SMH

The app does not work

I cannot credential in the app. When I try to link my Facebook account I get an error. I also get an error when I try to create an account. So I’m stuck on the home page trying to get past the account login requirement.

App Doesn’t Work

Got home after buying, I’m sure the fish finder works great but I can’t even sign into the app. Keeps saying “Error” and won’t let me sign in. Without the app it is worthless, will most likely return.

Piece of garbage

I’ve had the unit for a year. Actually got it to work once. I can connect to the units WiFi but then the unit won’t talk to my phone, tablet, other phone….Don’t waste your time, money, or frustrations on this.

Does not work as advertised.

I’ve had the FishHunter pro for about 7 months. It does not work as advertised. It does not show the depth in ice fishing mode. Even with a full charge it barely lasts 75 minutes. I am not happy with it. I fish from a canoe on soft water and ice fish on hard water. This was my first fish finder.

Signing in

This App is a headache. The page script has to be off, because I can’t even login.

App

Does this app not work on androids cause it will not download and it says on the box for iPhone and android

It Works! iPhone XS iOS 14.4

Turn off “WiFi Assist” at the “Cellular “ tab. I also turned off all the wifi calling options, just in case. Open the app and go the the sonar selection screen. Turn off cellular network when starting the sonar by going to your “cellular” tab in settings. Once the sonar is giving you the mapping, you can turn on back the Lte or 4g. To make an account, just hit submit on each field (blank box) and it will tell you what you need to insert on that blank. Hope it works! PD: I have an old iPad 2 with iOS 9 and it works great. In fact, you can see all the fields on the account creation page. I am having ocasional disconnects when I turn my LTE and the screen is to small. Better off with my old iPad.

Connectivity

This app and device would be amazing if it stay linked. For the money you pay, you would think the app would be a lot better. I’ve only been able to connect twice.

Great Concept, but the device never worked.

My device appears to be having sonar issues. I’ve gone through the troubleshooting steps 20 or 30 times and have never been able to get the sonar to respond and operate in the iOS app. I have no problem connecting to the wifi signal, but receive a message stating the sonar is not responding every single time it attempts to connect. I reached out to customer service three times with no response.

App does not work

App does not stay connected to fishing device. Login page is not developed, so can’t login.

iPhone 12

Can’t log into app with username and password or Facebook making the device utterly useless. Have a fisherman hunter 3D pro. Think it don’t work with the newer iPhones.

Can’t login

I got this for Christmas and still can’t login. Hard to use without the app. About ready to return and get the new garmin one

Useless fish finder without app cannot login

Please create a way to use fish finder without having to login it is very frustrating to have what is essentially a paperweight if you have any login issues in the field. Also I cannot even login, reset password or create a new account. Since updating to iOS 14.3.

Time out

I can’t sign up- I keep getting a timed out message

Disappointed

Can’t even get passed the signup keeps telling me error during signup while on WiFi and off trash app taking this junk back

App never works so I have a paperweight

Cannot reset my password there is an error. Facebook login also not working. Lastly cannot create a new account also gives an error and since the fish finder won’t work without being logged in. (Which you have to do from home anyway) you just have an expensive paperweight. They really need to allow a bypass to the fish finder without having to be logged in

Bad

It won’t even let me create an account. Just gives error message. Fish finder is useless without app.

Iso devices issues

Dark mode screen not readable. Needs light mode. Other WiFi devices near by need to be disabled. Cell data needed to start app, then disabled to use sonar. Close app after turning off cell data. Connect to fishhunter wifi Restart app, select sonar and start fishing. Sound does not seam to work on iso. Android works with everything on and sound works great for fish detected and sonar submerged. Issue is with the app design and bug that requires Internet connection to work. Would love to see a stand-alone sonar app for iso to fix the issue. Really like the 3D version for directional fishing as knowing where to fish is half the battle.

Does not work

App does not even let u log in don’t waste ur money.

App would not connect to the sonar

Might have something to do with ios 14, not sure

White text on a white background?

What more needs to be said? I opened the app and had to create an account, (why I need an online account for a sonar unit I don’t know.) But a white box opened with white text. The only way I got logged in was error messages.

Cant sign up with email account

The sign up page has no field names on it in IOS 14.2.1 on iPhone 12max. I cannot create an account. Please post a picture of the app with field names so I know what to enter where!

First use - pleased

Used the FishHunter Pro for the first time. No problems connecting it. Used it in a pond and had to throw it out by hand because I was afraid my rod wasn’t strong enough to cast it. When it hit the water it started registering on my phone and it was great. The real test will be the lake in my kayak.

Fish hunter

Works very well as fish finder and depth finder . Wish had more storage for one map. Live next to big bay . Had to do two separate maps and only covered main area. Ran out of storage to map all on one map.

Hardware works great Software not so much

I’m writing this review to get a response from the developers of the app because their no one manning the support email. I’ve emailed several times because of problems I am having with this app. My fish hunter is working superbly but the app is not responding correctly causing me to have to delete and reinstall the app constantly. Which is highly annoying, couple that with no response from the so called support team is just ridiculous. I’m sending a complaint to Lowrance as well, hopefully they can find a better developer for their software.

I’m trying to sign in but there isn’t any directions except sign in and it doesn’t inform you what to put on what line. If it isn’t fixed soon I’ll be taking the fish finder back because it’s no good without the app.

Pro

Mine stoped working, says it can connect try again later. I’ve charged it for several hours and idk of its because I got a new software update 13.6 IOS but it’s frustrating can you tell me what to try next or do?

Good idea but bathymetric mapping is useless

While this app does let you make bathymetric maps, map sizes are very limited and the data is locked in the product. I went on a 1.7 mile kayak and halfway through it stopped saying “Map too big”. When that happens you cannot add more data to the map, I.e. from several kayak trips. Many years ago we were promised data export but it hasn’t happened. App also frequently crashes and will not run in the background. Taking a phone call kills your sonar session. The competitors product is more expensive but includes on sonar gps and a platform for managing bathymetric maps and sharing with others.

Save your $

I have an iPhone XS Max. Says it is connected to WiFi in settings. When I open the app, it says it is not connected. Has not worked a single time.

So far... not good.

Just bought Fish Hunter 3D and before I can even use it I have to sign up for an account. That’s fine, except I can’t see any of the field info and I have no idea what to put in. I get a white screen with blank lines on iPhone 11. Will update if I can actually start using this. Edit: Got it working by changing from dark mode to light mode. The aspect ratio hasn’t been adjusted for larger iPhones though. That’s disappointing and a bit amateurish. Hopefully it will be improved. Phones with larger screens aren’t exactly new. When taking a profile photo, once you’ve taken a photo there’s no way to cancel. You can either retake or submit.

Seems like an okay app

*I’m using this app teamed up with the Fish Hunter 3D on a iPhone XS Max* The app seems alright all and all, but I’ve come across a few things which I’m sure others have probably previously pointed out as well. The first one is, if you have ‘Dark Mode’ enabled on your phone, you can’t see text in certain parts of the app. You have to switch back to the regular setting, in order to see information...that’s kind of annoying. The second thing, it doesn’t fill/fit the screen properly. These larger screened iPhones and other devices have been out for years not. Not sure why the dimensions/resolution hasn’t been adjusted to any fit each screen individually. Otherwise, it’s a pretty handy app.

Parts of pages cannot be seen on iPhone at least

There are many pages on the app where you cannot see the text fields. So they are not useable to customize the app to your use. Please fix!

Unhappy

It is extremely difficult to hook to my phone!!!

App won’t work

I downloaded the app and when I go to sign up it comes to a screen with blank lines and no directions I’ve tried updating my phone and it still doesn’t work so this app is useless unless the developers can help fix my issue

Zero success connecting

Have owned this for a while and it will not connect via wifi. Have tried everything including floating it in the kitchen sink. There is no ‘reset’ button on the device incase that needs to happen. I now own a $200 paper weight. Absolute garbage.

Senior griffis

Awful

This app is junk

Can’t even see the fields and the letters don’t show up when I type my email so I can’t use the app

Horrible experience

Could never get the fish hunter pro to connect to my phone I returned the first one got a second one and had the same problem. Customer support wasn’t that great either, The guy was polite but had no knowledge of how to troubleshoot the device.

I hate pesky software the keeps asking you to for a review

....

Not accurate

It’s always telling me I’m in 16/17 feet of water when I’m only in 4 or 5 feet. Constantly telling me there’s fish 1 or 2 feet deep when there are not fish. Also, I can charge the thing for a week straight and get out on the lake and it will tell me it has 56% power. This thing hasn’t done anything other than frustrate me.

Sonar is fine but the app is awful

No complaints against the actual fish hunter 3D, my gripe is with the app. It never fails to freeze when trying to add a pin on location. Actually the one time it didn’t freeze after trying 3 times, the process felt so cumbersome that it made me forget all about it. It’s not like you can easily view those pins while using your sonar anyways. Making a bathymetric map is cool, but only if you can remember which map you did. There’s no way to name them. What’s the point of maps without names? The most frustrating part though is that the app doesn’t let you view just plain and simple full screen raw sonar data. You have to share half a screen with other information that in most cases is worthless. Yes, the instruction manual for the fish hunter show a button on the top pull down menu when in 3D fishing to view full screen raw. That’s no where to be found on this version of the app. Fix that and I’d bump it up a few stars. Fix all the problems listed and the app would be solid.

Love FishHunter!!!

Love all of the functionalities of this app. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for this app as it can only get even better.

Updating my review

Edit: April 14 2019 I’m updating my review because it’s the only way I found to communicate with customer suppor. I bought the pro unit more than a year ago and could never use it because the bathymetric maps weren’t working, as per my review. A few months ago the issue was finally solved but know in fish view the buttom of the sea has disappeared and the screen stays blue with only water while in raw data it seems to work fine. Now i want to let you know How much i regret buying this and other similar units...with the money I spent i could have bought a regular good boat sonar. Plus, and is a big plus, your support is = to 0! Because there is NO support only links to videos and FAQ. I wouldn’t expect this from one of the brand leader on the market like Lowrance! My phone is a iPhone 7 Old Review: The app reset the location setting to “never” so even if I set it to “always” as said in the manual, when I start the app it will go back to “never”. As a result there will be no weather, no bathymetric maps because the app is unable to locate you! It’s a shame that there is zero customer support.

Tournament Fisherman

It's a great compact design that can be taken anywhere anytime. I've had mine out a few times now and it has worked great. A product for any fisherman novice or professional. This a niche that needed to be filled and I'm glad Lowrance did Thanks!

For big fish too

I found a very unique use for this unit. I sucker fish for musky and at times drift fish. I tether the unit to one rod and it floats in the same area as my sucker so regardless of boat position I have a handle on the structure where my sucker is at. I did need to update my phone iOS but then the connection was quick and easy. A cool and useful tool. I was surprised at the stability of the unit, even with significant wave activity.
